You asked for it and here it is… a class to perfect your glass cutting skills!  This class will provide many tips and techniques for cutting stained glass.  You’ll learn how to cut various shapes and how to avoid common glass cutting mistakes.  Small take-home project included.  Basic mosaic experience is required (see our Mosaics 101 class for the basics).

Saturday, March 6th

Birds of a feather may flock together, but a bird with this home will never roam! This class is different from the basic class in that you will learn some tips and techniques for doing an outdoor mosaic. This project will also incorporate a different type of grouting. It is a hands-on class that provides a basic understanding and the skills for creating beautiful outdoor mosaics. This mosaic birdhouse project is approx. 6” - 7”. There will be no glass cutting in this class, as we’ll be using rocks, marbles, and even pinecones!   No art or mosaic experience is required!

Sunday, March 14th

MOSAICS 101 (the basics) ($80)

This class is just what it sounds like... a beginner’s class. Or a refresher class. It is a hands-on class that provides a basic understanding and the skills for creating beautiful mosaics for your home. In this class you will make a mosaic mirror, a cross, or a heart (all projects are approx. 10”-12”). We will go over the basic tools and techniques needed to create a mosaic, as well as many tips I’ve learned along the way. Learning how to cut and nip the glass will be part of the instructions.  No art or mosaic experience is required!

Saturday, April 3rd

9am - 1pm

Indirect (or Reverse) Method on a Lazy Susan ($125)

Now that you've conquered the Direct Method (Mosaics 101 class) for laying a mosaic, come challenge yourself with the Indirect Method! Using the Indirect Method, the mosaic is created backwards, like a mirror and then transferred onto the substrate. We will discuss the pros and cons of each method, including which method is appropriate for various projects.  Basic mosaic experience is required (see our Mosaics 101 class for the basics).

Sunday, April 25th

12 - 6pm
